Carbon Fiber Foam Sandwich Panels
Carbon fiber foam core sandwich panels consist of two carbon fiber skins that ‘sandwich’ an ultra low density foam core. The surface finish of both skins is smooth and glossy as standard although a matte bonding surface can be specified if desired.
Customized sandwich core panel constructions are possible e.g. core type, core density, skin materials, temperature performance and surface finish.
Other key features of our carbon fiber foam core sandwich panels include: consistent high quality, excellent adhesion/peel strength between carbon fiber skins and foam core, excellent chemical resistance, low water absorption and good thermal/acoustic insulation.
Our carbon fiber sandwich core panels are amongst the most valued composite manufacturing innovations that have been developed within the industry, which have found multi-sectoral application such as aerospace, automotive, mass transportation, marine and industrial automation.

Carbon Fiber Honeycomb Sandwich Panels
The Carbon Fiber Honeycomb Sandwich Panels are ideal for a wide range of applications meeting flat, lightweight and rigid specifications. They are manufactured by ‘sandwiching’ an honeycomb core between layers of self-adhesive, medium modulus carbon fiber prepreg. By separating the carbon fiber skin with an honeycomb core, these sandwich panels offer greater strength properties than those of the skins alone.
Using carbon fiber prepreg for the outer layers creates structural skins that offer high strength-to-weight ratios, thermal and electrical conductivity, high tensile strength, low density, low weight, low thermal expansion and excellent fatigue resistance. Our sandwich panels are cured with high temperature and under pressure resulting in fully consolidated carbon fiber skins that are completely bonded to the honeycomb core. The cells of the honeycomb core will not fill with resin when using a prepreg, thereby insuring the constructed panel will not retain excess resin weight.
Manufactured with lightweight, high strength honeycomb, our honeycomb core sandwich panels feature higher compressive strength and lower core densities when compared to our balsa and foam core sandwich panels. The honeycomb core is manufactured with high bondable properties to insure the structural integrity of the panel remains intact. To increase the stiffness of the constructed panel, a thicker core can be used without substantially increasing the weight and cost of the final product.
