Applications
Structural PVC foam core has a unique closed-cell and cross-linked structure that provides high stiffness, strength-to-weight ratio, excellent toughness, low water absorption and excellent chemical resistance. It is compatible with unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy resin, vinyl ester resin, etc. and is widely used in wind energy, aerospace, marine, automotive, train, sporting goods and other applications.
Processing of PVC Foam Board
- Plain Foam: After foam board is sliced, no additional surface preparation is required. For curved surfaces, flat sheet thermoforming can be used to adapt.
- Perforated Foam: Have the around 2mm diameter hole in the foam, the actual hole size can beadjusted based on the foam core thickness and the density. With the hole, the air under the sheets can be expelled and the resin will be fluit to another side.
- Grooved Foam: The foam surface is grooved as the resin infusion channel. The groove can be made on one side or both sides, in one direction or both directions. With the resin infusion processing method, the groove will be used as the resin infusion channels, expell the air in the layup.
- Grooved & Perforated Foam: Based on the grooved surface finishing foam, have the hole in the groove, the diameter is 2mm, the groove can be in the length direction or the width direc tion, the groove distance is 20mm.
- Double Curved Foam: The foam is cut to the 55-60% through the core thickness. The cut location of both sides is stagged. lt is used on the curved surfaces. Compared with the countoured cut sheets the resin absorption is lower.
- Contoured Foam: The foam is cut into small particles in length and width direction on one side. The glass fiber scrim is bonded on the other side.lt is used on the curved surface.
