Dry van trailers are commonly used in the field of logistics and transportation. Their common sizes range from 10 to 53 feet. Different sizes have different choices of body materials. At present, dry van trailer bodies are made of many materials, mainly steel sheets, aluminum sheets, foam or honeycomb sandwich panels, curtain type, aluminum composite panel type, etc. TOPOLO recommends HDPE sandwich panels as dry van trailer materials, which can meet building needs of various sizes.
HDPE Sandwich Panels
HDPE sandwich panels are composite panels that use HDPE (high-density polyethylene) plastic as the core material and aluminum sheets, galvanized steel or stainless steel as the outer skin. It has the characteristics of high stiffness, high strength and light weight. It can be designed and manufactured according to the use conditions to meet various special purposes, thus greatly improving the performance of the dry cargo trailer structure.
- More safe, reliable and long service life
This material replaces the traditional corrugated aluminum plate, frame + steel skin, FRP sandwich panel, etc. The skin is made of high-strength steel or aluminum, and the core material HDPE is far superior in strength to wood, foam, honeycomb and other materials. This high-tech composite panel can reduce the weight of a traditional dry van trailer by about half. And reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

- Bigger volume, more cargo capacity
The thickness of HDPE sandwich panels is generally only 6~7mm thick. In comparison, the thickness of box body panels made of other materials is generally 15~20 mm, and some can even reach more than 40mm. We know that the thicker the panel, the less volume inside the box and the weight of the body will increase. A thinner dry van trailer body means more cargo can be carried.

- Installation and maintenance are more convenient
To assemble HDPE sandwich panels into a dry van trailer body, you only need to use simple accessories to connect them with screws or rivets. This operation is simple and reliable. When some areas of the box body are damaged, they simply need to be removed and replaced with new panels.
